Welcome from the fine arts department chair

Located in the heart of Buffalo's museum district, SUNY Buffalo State offers a wealth of opportunity in the visual arts. Not only do we have the largest number of visual arts programs in the entire SUNY system, but our students have gone on to become celebrated artists and designers with exhibitons at world famous institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art, New York.

Recently named one of the top 20 colleges with the most variety of art majors to chose from, Buffalo State abounds with choice. We offer Bachelors in Fine Arts degress in painting and drawing, sculpture, printmaking, photography, and art history. Students who choose to generalize in art may opt for the Bachelors in Art degree.
